Throughout the pandemic, Mike has been extremely flexible, helping us manage three different stores, while making meaningful contributions at all locations.
Mike was instrumental at setting up Covid vaccination clinics, while also mentoring teammates to embrace their scope of practice. A big part of our success in NB is due to Mike’s strong leadership and his ability to grow the business!

Shawn took on the dual responsibility as license holder and managing TWO Charlottetown pharmacies. Shawn took on the Lawtons Sherwood in addition to his growing business. His strong leadership helped stabilize Lawtons Sherwood and was able to help ensure teammates felt supported during this challenging time. Shawn was one of the first retail pharmacies to start providing Covid Vaccinations in PEI!

Heather worked hard with her team at Sobeys Montague to ensure opportunities for those with disabilities fostering a welcoming, encouraging and fully inclusive atmosphere. These efforts earned her the distinction of The Employer of the Year from Inclusion East Inc. Driving disability inclusion in their store and the community of Montague has helped them become a cornerstone of the community.

Matthew’s dedication to safety at the Stratford Sobeys he manages was recognized by PEI’s Lieutenant Governor, the Honorable Antoinette Perry. This prestigious award was awarded to Matthew’s store in recognition of the amazing work they did to serve their communities well during the pandemic.

Chantal Perry, Store Manager, Sobeys Elmsdale, Nova Scotia
Chantal Perry is committed to a genuine and inclusive leadership and engagement within the Elmsdale, NS Community, where there is a diverse group of customers and is the closest store to the Indian Brook Reservation.
When members of the Indian Brook Council called for help as their water had become contaminated with E. coli. Chantal sprang into action to support the community through their week-long water crisis by leading efforts quickly deliver clean drinking water.

T.J. is the definition of people power. He leads his team in Dartmouth with focus and enthusiasm, and he showed us how dedicated he is to success of the company when another location in his district was without a store managers for weeks—T.J. made their success a priority and helped them prepare for the busy Halloween season.

Rodney went above and beyond to help the Middleton RSC deliver its annual general meeting—his leadership here showed us how dedicated he is to keeping his team informed, engaged, and safe. Rodney prioritized the all-hands meeting above his planned vacation to overcome delays in the planning, and delivered not one, but THREE separate sessions so that attendees could stay physically distant.

Michelle and Zoe have been industry trailblazers in Nova Scotia, embracing their scope of practice throughout the pandemic and emerging as a true leaders within the pharmacy profession. Their success in driving health outcomes is laying the foundation for a new partnership between Lawtons and Nova Scotia Health to work together on future model sites within our broader network.

Fady at the Mill Cove Lawtons worked collaboratively day and night with nurses, pharmacists, MLAs in our Halifax Regional Community to build awareness and champion immunization awareness for his team and community! He even had Premier Rankin on site to thank him and the team for their commitment to helping keep Nova Scotians safe.

Juanita Drover, Franchisee, Foodland Carbonear, Newfoundland
Juanita and her team in Carbonear put community first throughout the pandemic. She led her employees through the initial uncertainty with decisive action. Before formal processes were established centrally, Juanita acted to keep people safe by limiting the number of shoppers in her store to ensure sanitization would be a priority. She put together a team offer pickup services, working day and night to fulfill 70 orders a day, and extra, personalized support for customers in her community who needed it.

Myra is a terrific ambassador for her store and the Sobeys banner within the Community of Mount Pearl. There’s a long list of community causes she’s a part of, supporting health workers, people experiencing homelessness, animal shelters, schools, and cancer research fundraising. She’s truly community-engaged!
